Hi,
I'm new to the site. Hello everyone.
I'm trying to identify a dagger/spearhead (or whatever you can tell me it is). I found it in a tin when clearing a relatives house. The tin was dated back to 1900, and contained the dagger and also some fishing equipment from the same period. So, I'm assuming the dagger is from around then or earlier, or was found by the relative at some point and stored.
The relative owned a farm so may have found it in the fields in the North West area of England, UK. That made me think it might relate to either WW1 or WW2.
The item is 20.6 cm long ('handle' 8.4 cm, blade 12.2 cm).
The 'handle' has what looks to me to be small indentations from binding with either twine or wire.
I hope someone can help. If you need further photos let me know.
Fingers crossed for good luck with this.

Nice artifact you got there, Richard. Here in this forum there is someone who can help you identify it.

Looks like a broken point from a wrought-iron fence.

Try photographing it with some sort of size index (a ruler or some sort of common object that comes in a very standardised size -- not a banana!) to give us some indication of scale.
