Albions at Hermann Historica
Just a heads up on a few Albions in the May 4th/5th Auction at Hermann Historica.

Albion Crecy, Lancaster, Regent and Kingmaker, lots 3400-3404.

Lot. 3329 and 3135 my favourites.
I like the bronze medallion that was put onto the Lancaster's pommel.
When I saw the title of the topic I was already thinking they are trying to sell them as originals. :)
as somebody who has never bought anything from Hermann Historica, I have a 'newbie' question. When they have an item on there and it says, "limit 500 Euro", is that a minimum starting bid price? What would the real price likely be?

Jean
Jean,
It's the minimum price (not including buyers premium) for either auction or post auction sale.

More info in this link.

The online catalog is well worth an hour or so of ones time just for dreaming. There's a German type XIX that I've seen published before that I'd buy in a heartbeat if I were footloose and fancy free.
Yeah I've looked at theirs and other catalogues for years to get a glimpse of authentic antique weapons and armor, but going through this time I noticed some items that seemed like they were within my price range if the 'minimum price' had any relationship to the actual price. (big "IF")

You mentioned an after-auction sale, does that mean that items which did not get auctioned go on sale in some other format later?

Jean
Eric.

I assume you mean this beauty which failed to sell in their last sale with a reserve of 9000 euro, now up with a 7700 reserve.

Arma Bohemia have a version of it in stock (EP68), though cross and blade different and blunt, I think http://www.armabohemia.cz/Novestr/handA.htm

Yes Sir, that's my baby!
One of these days I'll hit Arms and Armor up for a repro of that piece. I'd never risk an original in my hands. Arma Bohemia looks to have nailed the pommel pretty well.
