|
|
As a (relatively) new member of this forum, I would like to ask the members of this group for their advice.
I would like to locate a reliable vendor who can create a reproduction suit of half-armor – second half of the 16th-century; in the German or Italian style; “officer-grade,” but nothing nearly so fancy as parade armor. Might anyone be able to recommend a creditable armorer (or armorers), either custom or production, who could produce such an item?
In addition, I would also like to find a craftsperson(s) that could produce a reproduction arming-doublet, with appropriate mail gussets and skirting, to wear under the above-mentioned half-armor.
Any practical suggestions/tips/pointers would be most gratefully received.
Many thanks!
Best regards,
Wil

There is a wealth of knowledgeable armorers over at the armour archive. I've had good luck purchasing from makers there:
