I've recently come into possession of an H/T longsword bare blade and am planning to make a cross and pommel for it, but I don't have an actual H/T longsword pommel available for inspection. So if anybody still has an H/T longsword pommel in the original condition (i.e. can be unbolted and removed off the end of the tang), would they mind weighing it and telling me of the result? It's not absolutely critical since I have a decent idea of what the assembled sword feels like in handling and I suppose I can just experiment to get a similar heft and balance, but actual data from a real H/T pommel would certainly help me save a great deal of effort.
I think there might be a thread at SBG where key details about the H/T swords ... possibly the most useful info there is by someone who also posts here, but I find it hard to remember which of all the 'made-up' names are equivalent to the real names of posters here!
