Hello-
I recently purchased this ornate small-sword, which is missing its original grips. It has no makers mark, but I am trying to pin down a likely country of origin and date range. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Nick

Hello and welcome! We have several people around the forums who are small sword aficionados. It would probably be very helpful if you posted pics. as many as possible of different sections of the sword as well as a full length.

OH! That's the greatest smallsword resource I have seen! I know this isn't my thread but thank you, I've been wanting something like this for a while.

Another resource that is quite available for any meager budget is

Swords and Blades of the American Revolution Paperback – February 1, 1995
by George C. Neumann
http://www.amazon.com/Swords-Blades-American-...1880655004

Although some items in Neumann's book can be hotly debated in accuracy, it is still a very good flash card type gallery with descriptions.

The Bashford Dean book has been online for awhile now and there are other materials done up by him on other subjects.

There is no limit of what one can sift out of search engines, especially image searches.

Cheers
