For Sale: Hanwei Odachi
This listing has been REMOVED and is no longer active

I have for sale this enormous Japanese-style sword called an Odachi, from Hanwei.
I believe it has had two previous owners. I do not know if there have been others. It
HAS been cut with by the last gentleman who traded this gargantuan to me. Here is
a site with all of the sword's statistics.

The sword's fittings are solid. The blade has some light scratches and mild scuffs
likely caused by whatever cutting was done, but is otherwise without nicks or bends,
and I think typical of Hanwei's quality ( I've owned a few of Their Japanese Style blades ).

The saya is sturdy and the fit not too loose. However, it does have three areas where
the lacquer is pitted or scarred. Not too horribly, but nevertheless noticeably.

Because of its size, shipping will cost a bit more than usual. I am asking $ 950 ; money
order or cashier's check only, please. I CAN do PayPal, but we would have to discuss
their fees.

I will try to post pics hilighting the sword ASAP.

WARNING :

Gentlefolk, I feel duty-bound to inform everyone that this is a BIG, HEAVY sword. I do not
cut with my swords, but do handle and examine them when cleaning. This sword poses
a real challenge. So please consider this if you're curious and leaning toward contacting
me.

However, if you're into Japanese-style swords; looking for a piece that makes a statement
and is out-of-the-ordinary ? This sword does the job.

A bump for a one-of-a-kind, hard-to-find Japanese-style sword ... and for those
curious as to why I have NOT lowered my price, please remember it will likely
cost more-than-usual to ship this behemoth of a sword. B-)

Here are some pics ... FINALLY. B-)

The dinks in the scabbard, in my humble opinion, don't severely ruin the
overall presence of this sword. I should note I used a flash to make sure
they stood out ...
