Help on an ash shaft supplier
Does anyone know a good supplier of ash shafts suitable for pole-arms that ships in/to the US? I have a 30 yr old Kirby Wise vouge (sic) head that needs remounting for "Days of Knights".
Peavey Manufacturing can make most any size you want:

And they won't give you the shaft. Um...

Sherrill Tree makes octagonal ash poles for tree trimming tools. I've purchased 4 from them for various projects. the 96" (8') is $24+shipping.

Kult of Athena sells round ash poles that are 84" (7') for $25+shipping.

Thanks for the leads all who replied
For a voulge (vogue? voglue? sharp pointy thingy), you probably want something spear-length at least so the above suggestions are ideal.

However, should you have need of something shorter, for example a pole-axe or Dane axe, you can come by ash shafts of reasonable length at most hardware stores that sell garden equipment. They'll have replacement hafts for shovels and wheelbarrows and such. These are almost always ash or hickory (ask before you buy, though!).

Downside of this (upside for a certain sort of person... like me) is that this is a bit more hands-on than simply ordering a shaft of the correct size, as you'll have to carve and possibly pare down the size of the existing haft quite a bit to make it suitable for your purposes. Cheaper than purchasing online though...
Purple heart armoury has 1.25" x 8' for an ash shaft
