Hello! Inspired and encouraged by Fabrice, I'd like to show one of my daggers...
There are sometimes situations when customer want's something and you can't say no- you need money or he want's to order something you really wanted to do And there are also situations when the best way to learn something hard is to try to copy others work.
After such long intro...
Rondel dagger based on the excavations from England and France. 45 cm of spring steel hollow grounded blade, box wood handle with brass fittings. About 58cm overall. Wooden, leather coated scabbard. Upper plate is encrusted with the theme of Mary with the Child. Dagger is extremly light- 260 gr, about 9 oz.
So, what do you think? Oh, and as I mentioned in Fabrice's topic- st. Marys theme has been made using chisels, so after Tod's casting and Fabrice's etching this is a third option.

I think that is one very nice piece of work. Nice lines and detail work.

Just great! I love long rondels like this... It's so hard for me to keep my collection focused when I see pieces like this.
