Next up will be the Crecy that I posted drawings of earlier this year.
Blade and fittings are all done. I just need to finalize the scabbard design this week. Should be posted by next wednesday

Very nice blade! Looks like it will be perfect for cutting! If you are interested in spreading its popularity as a relatively inexpensive cutting sword I'd like to talk to you about sponsoring Longpoint 2014 and/or Fechtschule New York.

The proportion of the pommel and grip look pretty awkward and a bit chunky. Perhaps this is the angle of the photo though.

Here is one of the other images I posted from the link. Maybe in this photo the hilt looks less "awkward and chunky"
Could be that my photo skills could use some upgrading 
Or perhaps you just find the hilt not to your liking.

I see nothing wrong with the pommel-grip proportions.  Btw, how wide is the blade? And what is the cross section in the area from the end of the fuller to the tip?

That is sure a nice scabbard. That's worth the asking price alone.
I also like the sword very much, overall. Nice wide blade with an organic curve toward the point.
My only complaint , for sticklers on historical accuracy, is that most of the sword looks ~1300 era whereas the built up ecusson on the cross looks 15th century. Indeed the sharp lines of this component look more typical of type 10

Thanks J.D. I tried to design the scabbard and suspension in this package as close to a Custom level as possible and still be able to reproduce accurately as needed for a semi custom / semi production model.

I gave this a great deal of thought during the design phase. I had a look I wanted to produce and I played with the designs base on Oakeshott typology for this particular blade. In the end though, as an artist, I felt it important to deliver my vision of this sword even if it varied from that standard Oakeshott typology.
Also, given the fact that other than the blade being outsourced at an overseas forge, everything else is either made here in my shop or produced here in the states, I have great flexibility to offer customization on a sword like this so that even a person who likes this sword but wants to customize parts of it can do so if they choose.
I know there are many out there who think Valiant Armoury is a large importer. That could not be further from the truth. Over the last few years the economy has greatly shrunk the size of this business and now I am much more of a custom shop the produces semi custom production swords. I am a one man shop with one part time helper. Every sword that goes out my door has a great deal of my personal "blood sweat and tears" in it.
The plus side of this is that it allows me to deal with my customers on a much more personal level so that together we can fathom exactly want they are looking for .

That's perfectly legitimate of course, as long as one is honest (as you are). One can well imagine its frustrating for a creative person to be entirely limited by historical constraints.

Hello Sonny,
Well this looks great! The scabbards that I got from you have always exceeded expectations along with your custom work. Sadly I have had to downsize due to a pending move overseas, but I think I would be very tempted by this sword, even if out of my era. It looks a great value and a striking package.
