Julien, thanks for the donation and also thanks for posting a comment.
It would be a good idea, and motivating, if people making donations posted a short message like you did: More interesting than having me " Bump " the Topic every few days.

At this point we are at $2,010 and only $90 from the donation objective, so if 9 people gave $10 each we would be there. ;) ;)

A lot of the people donating have been very generous in giving more than the suggested $10, but I would like to also see more people giving $10 for a wider participation in helping nathan with the " Expense " of keeping this site going.
Thanks Jean, man marketing, for many years now.
Thanks to Nathan for his efforts and for those who participate.
I will read you always enjoy.
Donation made. Many thanks to Nathan, all the admin guys and to Jean for getting the donation drive up and running.
Long live myArmoury!

Well, we do seem to have met the donation objective, so any more money is basically a reserve to cover unexpected expenses and extras Nathan might want to add to the site.

Also, considering all the money out of pocket that Nathan has put into the site, or as unpaid worktime keeping the site free from malware or spam: All that " fun stuff " that is needed to keep a site in good health, a little extra cash is well deserved.

Oh, in preceding years the donation goal has consistently been surpassed, and I think the record amount raised what in the $4,000 range more or less.

Nathan I guess will let us know when he considers the donation drive closed for the year, so in the mean time any more donations are still very much welcome and useful. ( Welcome as well are the donations, or membership enhancements, given during the year between official fund drives ).

Again, a lot of small donations by a lot of people is very much appreciated as well as many of the people who have donated a lot more: Quite a few gave $50 or more, and many thanks to their great generosity. :D
Just a quick bump to keep the donation drive going and for people who may have missed seeing the Topic.

It would be nice to get close to $3000 as I think that most of the past years fund drives went a bit over $3000. ;) :D
I just noticed that I needed to renew my membership. I've got it all straightened out now thanks to Jean's reminders!

Seriously folks, I consider my annual membership to be a small token for everything I've learned here. :)

[edited to add]

Oh, and don't forget to make a donation too. ;)

Thanks for the reply, it's good when people post and give us their reasons why they like the site and also why they decided to make a donation or upgrade or renew their membership.

It's less boring than just my adding a new post. ;)

As long as Nathan hasn't ended the Fund Drive I will keep on " bumping it up " once every 3 or 4 days, but it's a lot less " lonely " when others add their own comments.

I do notice that after each time the Topic is bumped a few more donation trickle in, sometimes very generous ones, and thanks again to all those who have already made a donation.
Just a weekly " BUMP ".

Just noting that we have had about 50 donators so far with an average donation of $45.30, so those who have donated have been very generous.

I think that in previous years the participation averaged from 75 to 100 donators, so a whole bunch of small donations would be nice: So 50 more people giving $10 to $20 and we would be around the average donation level of previous years of $3000.
Jean asked us to leave a reply when donating so here goes:

Whether you're a regular poster or just come here to view the Classifieds and read an occasional post, you'd have to admit, just having this site as a resource is well worth a donation.

There are several sword related forums on the web. This one always seems to have the best researched historic threads. I'm always learning something new when I sign on.
Finally remembered to give a little something as well.
Thank you for hosting a truly great site.
Just my weekly bump to bring the Topic back up to the home page and let anyone who hasn't already seen the Topic to known about the fund drive.

Going well as it's at $2400 as I type this, and not too far from a nice round number of $2500, and maybe we will get to $3000 before Nathan decides to close the " Official Fund Drive " for this year, although money can and should be contributed by anyone wanting to support the site anytime during the year.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far and also thanks to those who have also added a comment/post to this Topic.
:D
Just put in for an Upgraded Membership subscription.
Weekly bumps, donation sort of not moving up for a while. ;)

Since we met the objective I'm not pushing for more donations aggressively, but still giving it a little nudge once a week or so.
ok just did it, how is the status ?

(and besides = bump)

Gottfried, thank you for your donation, but I'm not sure what you want to know about the status ? After your donation the total was up to $2,410 ..... if this is what you wanted to know ?
I just added a little something to make it $2,500 to make it a nice round number: I like round numbers. ;) :D

It might be nice to get to $3,000 also, an even nicer rounder number, but $2500 is pretty good and it does surpass the objective by a decent margin. :)
