Question about Daily Life of the Military Orders
Ok, I have a question regarding the religious military orders, such as the Templars, Hospitallers, and Teutonics

They are commonly referred to as "Warrior-Monks", but the question I have is, just how "monk-like" were they?

Did they follow the rule of St. Benedict (or at least try)? Did they get up in the middle of the night for Matins, then rise in the morning for Lauds?
Did they tonsure their hair? Did they take their meals in silence while another brother read aloud? Did they try to abstain from meat and obey strict silence after Compline?
Start by reading this
De Laude Novae Militiae (In Praise of the New Knighthood) by Bernard of Clairvaux.

Then read the Latin Rule, which is also attributed to Bernard
