My last project was an interesting collaboration with a client who is building a panoply based on Homer's description of the armour of Achilles, and on archaeological evidence. My contribution is the following cuirass, finished to the point where the customer can integrate a leather liner using the holes furnished. Black leather lacing and suspension are temporary. Pauldrons decorated in the same fashion are to follow.

That has been an ambition of mine since I first read the Iliad, and would be a wonderful project. I suspect that many of the magnificent parade shields of the 16th C took some inspiration from that text as well.

Beautiful work. I really like this one.
'I saw young Harry, -with his bevor on,
His cuisses on his thighs, gallantly arm'd,-
Rise from the ground like feather'd Mercury,
And vaulted with such ease into his seat,
As if an angel dropp'd down from the clouds,
To turn and wind a fiery Pegasus,
And witch the world with noble horsemanship.'
