Just finished up work on this Albion Squire Line Great Sword. This is the Mk I variety, and when it came to me, it was a bit beat up. The sword itself was solid as a rock, but the blade and fittings were in a sore state of neglect, with scratches, scuffs, file marks, dings, black spotting, etc.
The sword was given a new satin finish, which removed most of the obvious wear. It was hand sharpened, and the old grip cover was removed. It was then given a new black pigskin grip wrap, over three latigo risers and bound with cord.
The scabbard is a fairly simple affair, with a set of sculpted risers extending down 2/3rds its length. The mild steel chape has been formed to mirror the riser shape with detailed sculpts.
All in all, the overall package is not over the top, but makes this Great Sword seem a little greater than it did before it came to me.
