Close-fitting great bascinets and bicoques
I'm interested in early forms of the fully enclosed helmets that follow the shape of the head. Specifically anything from the first half of the 15th century (or earlier) that's not an armet.

I'm a little confused on the terminology of great bascinet and bicoque. For instance, is the helmet that goes with the kastenbrust armor from the Sabobai and Benaiah painting really considered a great bascinet? It follows the chin and neck very closely and looks like a solid piece that's hinged to get in. What are the helmets worn in Gladiatoria called? Great bascinets, bicoques, or something else?
