Some lesser-known historic kits
Hello friends,
Just wanted to share some photos from a weekend of costuming with my bellydancer friends. I try to pick Islamicate/Middle Eastern costumes to complement these events, and while there isn't as much interest in them here as Medieval- or Renaissance-era European kits, I hope you'll enjoy them all the same.

Because they were all with girls, the pictures are all smiles -- they don't look very warrior-like. I do wish I also had some guy-friends to costume with; that way, I could give these kits a more menacing appearance appropriate to their historical purpose.

1. Cavalryman, Qajar Persia, late 18thc (second time this year; I added peacock feathers to the helmet):

2. Murid highland warrior, Caucasus, mid 19thc:

Impressive, very impressive!!! And your kits are nice too. :p
All the more impressive because they're world class bellydancers too -- not just pretty faces!
