Celtic War Knife inspired with scabbard
This isn't entirely historical since I incorporated some modern elements into the design... but here is a knife inspired by the many Celtic war knives I've been looking at. The blade is forged from melted/carburized wrought iron that is very, very high in carbon. To bring the C content down I ended up doing a piled construction with alternating layers of wrought iron. The grip is Ceylon ebony with fossilized walrus ivory spacer and iron/copper ring pommel. The little knife is the first blade I made from the billet as a test. They ended up both going to the same customer as a pair since they looked so good together. The scabbards are hardened goat skin.

Just thought I'd share!

Very, very nice work!
Nice, but rather it is the shape of the knife "universal" than Celtic.
Thanks! I did start the thread with a disclaimer ..... 'inspired' :-) And the recurved blade itself is similar to a number of war knives I've seen.
