Introducing Danelli Armouries
Hello everybody,
I've been reading this forum for years, from which I learnt a lot about our common passion.
Making swords and daggers was just a hobby till a few years ago but then I decided to go full time and less than two years ago I started my own business.
Being and historical fencer myself, my main and only focus is to make weapons for the study and practice of Historical fencing.
I do not own a proper website as of now for various reasons, but here are the Facebook page and a gallery on a hosting site.

I'm happy to be able to share knowledge with such a passionate group of people in a more active way from now on.
Any question, comment, critique and suggestion are and will be really apreciated.

Marco Danelli.
Good looking work!
yeah, looks really fine.
what steel(s) do you use ?
and is there a price-list ?
Thanks!
I use spring steel for flexibility, on the FB page there's a short video while bending a rapier blade.
I don't have a catalogue, I work on custom orders, so for what is shown in the gallery range is everything between 200 and 700€.
Interesting stuff. Do you make sharps or are things blunt for the same reasons Del Tin makes blunt swords?
The law in Italy is pretty clear, no sharps.
But even if possible my purpose is to produce the best training weapons for the historical fencer, trying to stay as close as possible to the originals adding the safety of blunt flexible blades.
Looks good ! Would your swords although blunt by law, be able to be sharpened by the customer at home? I.e. will the swords have correct geometry.

I am especially concerned about if I can properly sharpen this sword, looks like a challange! :D

Your work is beautiful and I may order something from you when we are in EU but only if geometry is suitable for sharpening...
Geometry is right, but not the steel. It's a kind of spring steel tempered to be as flexible as it can, I don't think it would hold the edge well. I should use a different one, but it would require a few tests before I find the right temper.
About that mighty weapon it's a one off. Too much effort and time required to make another one :D
