Help Identifying Armet
Hi,

Can anyone identify the armet's as seen in this picture from the Triumph of Maximilian (attached).
They do look somewhat similar to the flemish armet in seen here- http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=2684
but the ocular slit seems to be on the visor itself.

Any other examples in repro or art would be most appreciated!

Not an uncommon form in the 1520s-30s in Germany and the surrounding areas. Here's one from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. This harness appears to be contemporary with the drawing you've referenced... Cheers!

Do your search again using close helmet instead of armet. Similar shape, different construction.
Great stuff, thanks for your help :)
