Wow, that would be cool. I'd have to bring out my best swords then.
So, this time you'll actually buy us a round, Josh?
(Just kidding, Josh is always a very gracious host)

Hi Nate, Ya Dave puts this on monthy, I try to make one every quarter or so, but this summers been hell I've only made two this year.
It's a great crowd, some time just the regulars other times we've had like 20 folks show up. Lots of fun smoking cigars, drinking beer, eating good food and BSing abought swords!

Yes, the Portland/Vancouver Area Gathering is a monthly meeting, we meet roughly every third or fourth Monday of the month at the same place (they like us. We tip well!).
They even tolerate our swords (they have some on display in their bar, so why not?). Of course, there's no room for cutting, sparring, or practicing forms, so it's just show and tell. It's totally informal.
My personal (work) schedule has just changed, and not for the better. We will be discussing a potential schedule change at the meeting. But right now, it looks like we'll be keeping our Mondays...

[Swish......Swish......Swish.....]
{Swinging newly assembled teastrainer thru the air}
Jeez, I don't know if I should send this new teastrainer thingie down to Portland with Josh. [Swish.....Swish] Might upset some of the skirt wearin' crowd that shows up to that Monday thingie.........
Nope, this'n's not an Eljay. This one is more generic..... Originally meant for the sparring guys, I can see some potential for a sharp or three......... But none of the Portland area guys would be interested in a looksee of this'n........
{setting down on table, and picking up newly assembled rapier simulator}
No rapier fencers down there either...... no point in sendin' this baby down there either.......
*g*
swords are fun

Whoa there guys! Let's not be too hasty to dismiss these new swords, simply because they're teastrainers.... we are meeting at a "Scottish" pub now, aren't we?
Besides, even those of you who are less than secure in your masculinity don't need to be threatened by swords with fancy hilts, let alone men wearing skirts, right?
