As the title states, one of Owens beautiful pattern welded blades with a hilt and scabbard by me. Owen gave me a fairly free reign with this and this is what I came up with, decided to keep it fairly simple and let the steel do the talking Happy

Bolster of horn and bone with hilt of Walnut.

[Close up of horn bolster, see the pattern reflected in it...

And in the scabbard lined with sheepskin ...

Hope I did the blade justice on this one.

Really nice work from both of you!

But I have to admit that my first thought was that "Rest by me" was the name you've given to the sax... Wink I thought it was a word play on "Rest by my side" or something like that.

Hiya Mark

Although nice work by Owen I've never been a fanboy of the later style A-S 'broken back' seax style , but your grip and scabbard enhance this seax and I'm sure others who share a like of the blade style will snap it out of your mutual hands!

best
Dave

Hi Owen, Mark,

Very nice work indeed, both blade and hilt, not over the top, but very neat and well executed, so compliment each other well.
So, a result in my opinion.
Nice to see some quality collaborations, I'm thinking of asking Patrick Barta if he'd collaborate with me on decorating my kitchen. Mark, not too late, get yer backside to York, or you'll miss out!
later,
Tjordulf
