Just finished this commission.
Let me know what you think.

For any other man's,
Nor that I will be ashamed
Of my work torn hands-

For I have chosen the path I tread
Knowing it would be steep,
And I will take the joys thereof
And the consequences reap.

The carved head is very nicely done. To do such precise detail in a carving so small must take some serious skill!

Can I ask what the runes say? I got out my copy of Ruth S. Noel's The Languages of Tolkien's Middle-earth, but had no luck matching any but the 5th rune for certain. Curious to hear what the inscription on such a knife might say.

Thanks for the kind words.

The runes are the family name of the owner. They are Turkish runes from the 8 th century BC, and are read Right to Left.
