4 seax two with sheath two without....

this is a blade from the west Kentish saxon hoard.....
14 inch blade...Wrought at the spine left rough forged until the broken back..
single layer twist with alternate high layer and wrought...
w2 through hardened at the edge.
blade is burned into handle and secured with cutlers resin.
Handle is english oak burl.
wrapped with silver coated copper wire with the silver sanded off on high spots to give pattern.
sheath is verry stiff veg leather (almost Half tan) with copper fittings , the style is my own take on seax sheath.

here is the second seax for sale.
Blade from the west Kentish saxon hoard.....
shear steel and wrought iron san mai construction that is my own sheer steel with wrought iron layers on the outside of it. you can see the steel as a darker layer down the centre of the spine .
The blade is 7" .
The handle is Box wood , the blade is burned in and secured with cutlers resin .
The sheath is stiff veg tanned leather . It is a tight secure hold not a quick draw .
This is an elegant working knife . my idea of an every day as opposed to fighting seax
I am asking £230 for this knife with postage at cost on top of that .

Two more seax.....
both blades are shear steel and wrought iron san mai .I made the steel for these blades for a Tv series called Bang goes the theory .for an article on making steel.
The sheer steel was made by carburising wrought iron with leather , charcoal dust and horses poo.....
both blades are 13 1/2 inches long. The blades have character ....and you can see some silicate stringers in the blades . I can post more close up photos of the blades if wanted .
the blades are burned into their handles and secured with cutlers resin .
handles are walnut and cherry wood .
I am asking £185 for each knife with postage charged at cost on top of that .
