Pattern welded Ulfberht viking sword w/ type H fittings
I decided to finish up the pattern welded Ulfberht blade that has been floating around the shop and wanted to share the results. I ended up having to grind a little mass from the tip area which livened up the blade and helped reduce some weight as well. I fashioned the type H fittings for the blade since followed the original intention for the blade. I decided to add some risers to the grip to help the eye flow as well as some texture to help with a secure grip. I am pleased with the results, and it is ready head out to a new home.

Overall weight: 2lb. 15oz.
Point of Balance: 4.5" forward of guard
Point of Percussion: 20" forward of guard
Blade Length: 31.5"
Blade Width: 2.5"
Length Overall: 37.5”

I am asking $2300 for this sword

Hey Michael, excellent work, I'm sure that whoever ends up with this piece will be very happy. Out of curiosity, is the pommel made from one piece or two pieces riveted together.
Impressive as usual ....... did I say that I'm impressed? This is seriously understating how I admire your work. :D
Another incredible piece, keep up the good work.
Now that is a beautiful piece!

Hi Stephen, the pommel is made of two pieces, the tang is peened to the upper guard, and the pommel is riveted to the upper guard.
