obtw; can I ask about what you had to pay for it so I can get an idea of how much I'll have to save up for something from Mr. Barta? Also, is the blade hand forged or CNC milled, and does he do pattern welded blades?

There you can see what kind of work he does and examples of prices. Along with these swords and other projects, he does take custom commissions if he agrees on the project.
His waiting list is generally quite long.

Agreed. If you think this sword is awesome -- and it definitely is -- then prepare to have your mind melted by the sheer awesomeness of Patrick Barta.
I'm totally serious -- the above statement was not at all in jest or sarcasm. Patrick Barta is one of those all-too-rare talents, in a stratosphere which includes folks like Vince Evans and Jake Powning, and a few others.

It's nice to see this one recreated. I sold my Barta sword to pay for a commision I was assured was near completion. Over a year later I still don't have that one and don't expect to ever see it. I now very much regret selling the Barta, don't let this beauty get away.

My Barta sword was a celtic pattern and a bit if an odd man out in my collection. At least it wasn't in my "just love the type" niche, still a nice piece though.

Do you happen to have a decent digital camera at hand? more pictures would be nice! especially close shots (peen, scabbard etc). That said I'm also interested in seing more of your Robert Moc too. You do need to set up a collection gallery here asap, keeping those locked in a closet for your viewing pleasure only is scandalous! :)
