Hello,

A partial class list is now on-line for Combat Con Las Vegas! Nearly half of the classes are online right now and we'll be adding more soon, so be sure to check back often. With nearly 30 instructors from around the world teaching everything WMA, there is something for everyone here. You will be able to choose between more intensive 2 hr classes or a variety of one hour classes. There's A LOT to do at Combat Con so choosing between the classes and the exciting Panels, Activities and Demonstrations will be difficult! Please go to http://thecombatcon.com/ to register and to see a draft schedule layout under the WMA tab.

There are four ways to look at the classes based on how you study WMA. You can view the classes along with their short descriptions (http://thecombatcon.com/class-list), or you can look at the list via System/Style (http://thecombatcon.com/classes-by-system) or via Weapon (http://thecombatcon.com/classes-by-weapon). Lastly, each instructor's bio page lists their classes at the bottom.

There are still many more classes coming, along with the list of Demonstrations, Panels and Activities. We will bring you more details soon.

Of course, there is much to do in the evenings. After dinner there will be tournaments, free fencing, movies, games and that's all without leaving the hotel Happy After all, you're in Las Vegas!

To celebrate the class list online there is a 10% discount until April 5th, so use WMA2011 in the Promo Box and get your registration in now!

Sincerely,
Jared Kirby

Hello,

There seems to be cheap flights to Vegas on Delta right now. If you haven't booked a flight to Combat Con (http://thecombatcon.com/) you should check it out!

Also a reminder that you can get 10% off registration with the promo code WMA2011 but only till April 5th.

We are less than 3 months away so now is the time to get all your ducks in a row!

Take care,
Jared Kirby

Hello,

We now have approximately 95% of the classes, 40% of the Demos and 40% of the Panels online.

There are 5 ways to view the classes:

The full draft schedule (http://thecombatcon.com/programming/schedule)
The list of classes with descriptions (http://thecombatcon.com/programming/class-list)
View classes based on Systems (http://thecombatcon.com/classes-by-system)
View classes by Weapon (http://thecombatcon.com/classes-by-weapon)
Click on an instructor's bio page (http://thecombatcon.com/instructors), their classes and demo are listed.
*Please note that we haven't gotten the Panels linked up yet.

Maestro Paul Macdonald is also offering a Backsword Intensive workshop on Friday June 24th during the day. This is a separate workshop at the Tuscany so it will be a great way to get started for the weekend! More details are at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=141977975873209

There is also Free fencing all day and night on Friday/Sat! The 24 hr fencing event starts at 9am on Friday and goes all night till Sat at 9am. Many schools and organizations are putting together teams to raise money for Team Fox by fencing for 1/2 hr. In addition, we will have another area set up for free fencing the whole time so come fence!

If you haven't registered yet, now is the time. We are only 11 weeks away!

Take care,
Jared Kirby

Hi,

Nick Gillard (assisted by Kyle Rowling) will teach a light sabre master class at Combat Con in Las Vegas June 24th, 2011 (http://thecombatcon.com/jedi-fighting). For the first time ever, you will have an opportunity to learn light saber fighting from the man who created it for Star Wars I, II and III.

In this master class Nick will teach a complicated run from Revenge Of The Sith which covers all of the Jedi moves while explaining the rules involved in Jedi fighting. He will also teach how to write it yourself. This World Premiere master class will be the first time it's been taught since Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen learn it!

This special master class will be a separate charge (TBD), but only participants registered for Combat Con will be able to attend so register now (http://thecombatcon.com/register). Space is very limited to make sure participants get a lot of individual attention. It will fill up quickly so don't miss this rare opportunity to be trained by the man who created all the fights for Star Wars I, II and III!

Take care,
Jared Kirby

Hello,

Just a reminder to make your hotel reservations for Combat Con TODAY! Our special discounted rate is only guaranteed until tomorrow.

You may find a lower rate on several booking websites, but those rates do not tell you about the $13/night resort fee you'll be charged when checking in (one of those pesky fees they don’t tell you about up-front). That fee is waived when booking directly with the Tuscany, using the CombatCon rate. and you can stay for an extra day or two at that price!

To book, call 877-887-2261!

Take care,
Jared Kirby

Weekday: $35.00 per guestroom, per night Sunday through Thursday, single or double occupancy.
Weekend: $65.00 per guestroom, per night Friday and Saturday, single or double occupancy.

Hi,

We have officially sold out the Tuscany Hotel! There are no rooms left, so if you still need a place to stay we have listed several hotels within walking distance (http://thecombatcon.com/register/stay).

We're also very happy to announce that the website now has over 2,000 facebook "likes". That's a lot of traffic, so keep on clicking that button!

We're only a few days away, and some big things are still happening. Four new signing guests are on board (Michael Pare, Olivier Gruner, Treva Etienne, and Vince Lozano). We're screening Albert Pyun "Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire" starring Kevin Sorbo at our Film Expo and our most recent sponsors are a hot new Vegas show called the "Viper Vixens" who will be doing a demo for us on Friday night.

This is one event you don't want to miss. We will tell stories about it for a long time!

See ya soon,
Jared Kirby
