What happens when you have time on your hands and notice a piece of unassuming bar stock in your friends metal shop scrap bin. Big Grin

Just wondering if anyone thinks this is a good design. It isn't based on any particular period original and is a bit small in dimension, but I think it's be an effective ankle breaker Wink I'm thinking of making one out of aluminum, but am a bit concerned about durability and such. I'm kinda figuring on it being pretty safe and usable for safe live steel combat (thanks to not being the true armor crushing weight or mass) since the various fail points and hardness of 6061-T6 are

Ultimate Tensile Strength, psi 45,000
Yield Strength, psi 40,000
Brinell Hardness 95
Rockwell Hardness B60

Since aluminum breaks at right angles rather than fractures into shards, I'm cautiously optimistic at my idea of it being "safe", at least as far as a bludgeon goes.
15in "blade"
width- 1in
length-1in
5in grip
22in overall (but negotaible)

Please post any encouragement, criticism, rants on lack of historical precedent, etc. Happy
