That looks stunning and the handle work is awesome...but I guess I just don't understand the blade profile of a Walloon. It seems very complicated to me. What is the rationale behind it?
The guy is top quality for Turkish knots and wire wrap handles. I have a rapier dagger set of his and it handles really well also. Looks like a good fast sword you have there.
Very nice, Karl.

The backsword blade is unusual for this type. It looks very similar to the one on the Cervenka Swiss saber you acquired awhile back.

Hello
Yes,I liked the blade, on the saber, so much ,I had it done with this one too. The design reduses the wieght ,by quite a bit, without loseing any strength.

Thanks for looking
That's a very nice sword, Karl. You'll be happy for Christmas ! I have a beautiful 16th century Germand sword made by Vladimir and it's quite right : Vladimir can make wonderful wire wrapped grips with Turkish knots. Your sword seems to have a better finish than the usual work from Cervenka. Concerning the guard, maybe is it due to the bluing, but the very complex blade seems flawless. A very nice design, indeed.

Cheers,

David
Nice looking sword..... love that blade!
I like the hilt. I like the blade. Together? Not so much. It's such a complete departure from history that it doesn't float my boat. Still, it's a testament to the maker's skill. That's for sure.
As soon as Croatia gets into EU I will have to order something nice from Vlad. This blade is really something.
I have a customized pappheneimer dagger,and a spanish dagger,both 17th century style,waiting only some blades insciptions,that Vlad Cervenka,does very precisely.
This Haudegen Wallon,it showes once more, what are the possibility, that Vlad hs,to become, even more considered,in the higher end of the market.
I like the hilt, and i hope, that all guard is pierced,as i cannot see well on the thumb-ring side.
The blade is still the best part.I do prefer this blade, with the Swiss Sabre.
On the Haudegen, could have been nice,a double fullered blade,as for example, used on the Mortuary swords by Armour Class.
I am also sure, that this Haudegen of Vlad Cervenka, will,, in anycase be,a striking piece.
I personally, never been disappointed with Mr. Cervenka craftmanship.
Karl,you will be much envy.
Andrea

If I understand you correctly, I don't think you will find any piercings on the top side of the thumb ring.

I wish the piercings on the outboard side-ring plate had bigger diameters and were spaced further apart. They are so small that they look like pinholes.

I still like it - Karl, when you get the sword, you muist tell us how sweetly it handles
Hello

Beautiful,as always,these kind of products,by Vlad,my compliment,for the blade idea,i really like it,even if not interily historically correct,looks amazing.
I am waiting to et myself 2 long customize 17th cent. parrying daggers, and ,i had already asked Vlad Cervenka, for another Wallon version.
You own another great piece, and i have noticed, you are into same types of weapon that i like.
Sure you will love this piece, and i am happy when i see Vlad pieces, gettin better and better.
