Sorry Ciaran - I decided to take advantage of the ample sunshine and go outside to take some more pics of the sword. When I came back in to download the images the drivers for the camera started messing up. I deleted all the software off of my machine and reinstalled it - still nothing. So I have no more pictures to share as of yet. There is however a picture of the sword in the comparison tool if that helps any. :\

What do you mean by reproduction pommels being too crisp? This sword was supposed to be based on a photo that Oakeshott sent them of the original (or something like that); I hope I didn't get an accuracy-lemon.

Ciaran
My last one was an Albion Migration type D, with some custom touches.

You'll see pics of this one soon, it's a real looker.

I see what you're talking about with the pommel now; the replica is definately missing the round-over look of the original. I'll try and get some of these pics uploaded as soon as I can, but the camera is still not working properly so I'm not quite sure what I will be able to get from it if anything. Thanks for linking to those pics!
old topic but a good one!

I recently bought a Deltin #2151 15th century sword and I also got a used ATRIM Swedish bastard sword and Im happy with both of them!

what about you?
Since you resurrected the topic:

The last sword I got is a wonderful Albion Armorer's Duke with a very beautiful historical scabbard by Christian Fletcher.

Very agile sword for its size, surprisingly light and a wonderful cutter. A prime example for a big cutting sword.

Well nothing historical unless you consider a Khukuri service #1 a sword...but my odin blade was the last one I recieved, I have an iaito on order but its more a training implement. My custom leaf blade I had made to my specs and designs...perfectly executed (named Draug Carak).

General Stats:

Weight - 3 1/4 lbs (according to John, I havnt a way to weigh it)
POB - Roughly 4 - 4 1/2 inches
Blade Material - 5160
Handle Material - Undyed Amboyna Burl, Water buffalo Horn and a bronze spacer inbetween the two.
Scabbard - Odin Blades leather scabbard with vine and leaf motif carved in, removeable belt suspension with brass fittings.

Stats in Inches:

Blade Length - 33.9"
Blade fullered - 21.1"
Fuller Width - 0.4"
Over all handle length - 11.5"
Usable handle - 9.4"
Cross guard width - 8.6"
Over all sword length - 46"

I want to buy another historical sword...something I can use with my iaido training so it may be a bugei blade (was gonna get a chen small sword but i cant justify the money needed for it at the moment.

Hi Lee... When did you get the Parrell sword, if you don't mind my asking. I've got a project in the works with him and haven't heard a peep for a while, so I'd be happy to see that some folks are still getting their swords...

My latest swords have been a couple of MRL swords, the dragon sword fantasy piece that they have on closeout and a Rennaisance War sword, which I recently traded for. Not bad swords. Maybe not high end, but it is always nice to get a new toy high end or not... :)
Hi Scott,
To be honest i didnt mention this sword for some months as i've been following the few threads concerning G,P.
I picked this one up sort of via ebay from a lad downsizing who had a few swords,
So as much as i wish i could be the bearer of good news, :( ,
I cant help,
I did send off a couple of mails to the site but didnt get any replys,
which from what i gather is the norm of late,
Hopefully he's holed up somewhere banging out those promised project's.and will come good for all concerned,

If i can help,if i've missed anything, feel free to pm away.

Hi, Lee... I had a suspicion that would be the case. Well, I'm hoping Glen is just being silent and hasn't quit the biz or something. I have a painting that I was doing for him that I needed a bit of feedback on and haven't had any word, besides for the project he was doing for me... So, I'm sort of in a position where I can't figure what to do or how to approach it...

Oh well. Time will tell how it all comes together. :)
Oh good, I like this topic. Eye candy is always fun and may spur some good conversations. A whole lot of things have come (and gone!) from the collection since this post was active.

My last additions, as I've acquired them:

[ Linked Image ]
E.B. Erickson Germanic Basket-hilt

[ Linked Image ]
Vince Evans Early Scottish Dirk

[ Linked Image ]
Albion Armorers Next Generation Regent

You can click on any of the above photographs to jump to the collection pages with more images and stats.

The other fairly recent one, that hasn't been added to my collection gallery yet, is a Polish saber by Sczepan Twardoch:

Not at all my period, and IIRC there were reservation over details/finish when it came up before, but that Polish sabre really appeals to me.
Geoff
The last few things I received were (from the most recent):

Albion Sovereign:
http://www.myArmoury.com/chad_swor_alb_sov.html

Vince Evans Ballock Dagger:
http://www.myArmoury.com/chad_dagg_ve_ball.html

Albion Baron:
http://www.myArmoury.com/chad_swor_alb_bar.html

It's been a good summer. :)
The last sword i purchased was my knight and scabbard from good old Albion.

My latest additions have all come from the folks at Albion. The Baron and the Regent have already been covered in previous posts. The Jarl is the newest one but no pics available as of yet.
Aye Scott,
Time will tell, hopefully for the better,

As for the smaller range of sharpies,
My actual last buy was that Al massey pattern welded bowie,
via sfi classifieds,

But my steel order is en route in the next two weeks and that hopefully goes into production
within the month, :)
So hopefully get to post something new soon,
As opposed to thinking you lucky chap.........

Nathan,
Isnt your sabre quite recent too, wicked looking piece,
The last sword I received was a shinsakuto Katana by Enomoto Tatsuyoshi.

I have a few blades in the works.

A Runatal themed Viking style greatsword based on the description of the blade found in the lair of Grendel's mother's lair in Beowolf. - currently being forged by Jake Powning.

A Howard Clark L6 Katakiri-ha Zukuri katana - being reforged.

An Albion Viceroy - Being paid off =)
It's a three way tie for me, depending on how you look at it. Someone please feel free to PM me if the pictures are too large.

The last sword I received was my "Ranger inspired" type XIIa (someone may want to correct me, because there are a few aspects of the piece that blur the lines, so XIIa is my closest guess) by Rick Barrett, which was picked up in completion at the Japanese sword smithing seminar a few months back (although I'm still waiting on the scabbard. Also, pardon the poor quality on the photo... someday I'll get decent pictures that do this piece justice):

[ Linked Image ]

The last sword I actually paid for is the shobu zukuri katana I worked on at the seminar. The blade is paid for, the polish is paid for, and just a tiny bit left to pay on the fittings / mounting work. Hope to have her by this coming spring, and I absolutely can't wait:

[ Linked Image ]

Next sword I hope to have in hand will be an Albion Trafalgar, which is pending transaction from the classifieds. ;) (where 'pending transaction' translates to 'waiting until payday' so I don't starve).

Lots of great new pieces to drool over in this thread. Hate to be the skipping record, but me thinks I love that Polish sabre...
