dear myArmoury,
I am interested in making my own scale armour, but having it integrated into my maille, but the only thing that I have found that (is perfect for what I am after) is in America and hence the shipping to the UK is more expensive than the products that i'm actually buying.
Il like the site so you have an idea of what i'm after;

If there are any suppliers of this (or indeed anything similar that isn't lamellar) in the UK or Europe then I would be really grateful!

My girlfriend orders from The Ring Lord all the time. Shipping is reasonable, if you buy enough in one go. We're in The Netherlands BTW. Alternatively, you could try The Queen Ring. They resell stuff from The Ring Lord and are based in The Netherlands. Shipping may be less.

It's in Dutch, but I'm sure Google Translate can help you there. Or just shoot them an e-mail.

I don't know what your available tools are, but I made a 1300 scale Archaic Greek shirt myself and I made all the scales. It really wasn't that bad. I made them in 22 gauge bronze and cut them with tin snips, work hardened them on an anvil, files them to make them neat, and polished them on a wheel.

i was looking at using the tempered scales from the Ring Lord but wanted to use riveted rings in the assembly. However, I cannot find a good source of riveted rings to match the scales. Anybody?

Try Ice falcon:
6mm round

9mm flat mild

9mm flat stainless

A personal note: I tossed the little rivets that came with the links and used steel wire of the correct gauge to fit the hole of the link. I sniped the wire off after fitting in the link and squished link shut with a pair of modified pliers. Having a piece of steel long enough for me to hold in my hand rather then rivets sightly lager then a pin heads greatly increased my productivity and lowered my irritation factor. Personally experience may vary.
