Type XII sword in the style of arming swords Circa 1100-1300 AD. Blade is 5160 spring steel hardened to HRc8-60, then selectively drawn down to HRc45-48 through the spine, shoulders and tang. Pommel and Guard are mild steel. The hilt is dismountable using a 5mm. Allen sleeve nut countersunk into the pommel. The handle is Emboyna Burl wood with reinforcing bands of latten at either end to prevent splitting. This sword is provided with a brown leather scabbard reinforced at the throat and chape.

Some times you need to simply get in the shop and make something just because you want to. this was one of those swords. Pretty pleased with this sword; It's been a long time since I have employed a plain exotic hardwood handle but it came out quite nice and not as slick as one might expect. With gloves on I don't imagine that even sweaty hands will pose a problem.

That is gorgeous.... I'd like to see more exotic woods used on hilts/grips... it may not be historically/culturally appropriate (if that's what you're trying to be), but it's real cool looking....

I just uploaded a video of my first cutting with your Great Sword of War. I edited out the last part where I said that it was a whole lot of sword for the money. I was afraid the prices would start being put up and people might miss out on a great deal. Besides it might look like I was a pitchman for your swords...lol! I do like it though. The blade looks excellent- especially the fuller terminus to the tip, but I don't care for the about the pommel type A variant paired with this this cross. This pommel shape, as well as the combination with the guard gives a modern impression, but perhaps that is the idea.

The sword does appear to be an excellent functional piece.
