The Meyer Frei Fechter Guild http://freifechter.com/ is pleased to announce Dixie Krieg 2010 (An event sponsered in partnership with the HEMA Alliance),. This two-day event will take place October 16-17 in Tallahassee, Florida, at —

Jack L Morris American Karate Studios
4500 W Shannon Lakes Dr
Tallahassee, FL 32309

The theme of this event is VICTORY THROUGH THE MASTERS’ TECHNIQUES. The instructional format is unique. It consists of a series of sparring clinics in which experienced teachers will guide participants through simple, yet effective techniques drawn straight from the manuals and show how reliance on these techniques makes for victory in freeplay. Half a session will cover the techniques while the other half will involve putting them into practice in controlled freeplay. These clinics will provide immediate feedback and assistance from experienced fencers to enable participants to improve their sparring on the spot.

The event will offer instruction in:

Longsword (both nylon and steel).
Sword and buckler.
Polearms.
Dagger (drawing from the simple yet effective techniques of Achille Marozzo).

In addition, there will be instruction in Joachim Meyers’ longsword devices, prescribed patterns of offense and defense that contain the secrets of his art; and an introduction to Achille Marozzo’s unarmed dagger defenses.

We will also host a prize play for eligible fighters seeking rank.

There will, of course, be plenty of opportunities for open sparring.

The proposed schedule is here .
