I cannot find info on this one, the only mark I can find is " Hausmann " on the ricasso. Haave any of you guys ever heard of Hausmann ?

I have no sources that mention a maker named Hausmann. Did you see my reply to your first thread?

I did see it Jonathan.
Do you know what the basket style sword is ? I know little about swords ( gun guy here ), just seem to acquire them. I hope to trade some off this coming weekend.

If you look at the image I attached in your other thread I identified each sword. In the case of this one it appears to be an Austrian M1845 cavalry trooper's sword.

I am missing something Johnathan, the one I am talking about has the round holes in the guard, or basket piece. I found it to be made by J.H. Haussmann, who apparently was an Imperial Sword Cutter in Vienna in the mid 1800's. Do you know where I can find a picture of a nice one ? I am learning, my focus is mainly on old firearms, but every once in a while these swords are good trade fodder !!
