Hello all, about a year and a half ago, someone posted here a link to a academic paper about the iron industry in the 14th century. Does anyone by chance have a link to it?

It could possibly have been me who originally posted it. I tend to like the subject. If you search on history of; mining, charcoal production, coal production, and iron smelting in England..... you will most likely get more information than you wish for.

in England;
Medieval iron smelting http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/adsdata/cbare...003001.pdf
http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/adsdata/cbare...007001.pdf
Peasant Craftsmen Industries (includes charcoal production and iron related work) http://www.bahs.org.uk/17n2a2.pdf

Thats all great but I remember that the article I was looking for went on and on about different ways iron was measure (sheaves, pieces, pounds, tons, wagonloads) and also cited the prices of many pieces of armour to show how the price of armour was falling throughout the 14th century.

The research I had seen on English production had everything converted to tons. Some of the modern articles on German production have done the same. I would say a different forum member posted that one.
