For those of you who have read some of my posts on cutting or the Shinto Elite this probably will come as no surprise. Sunday I had just finished mowing the backyard and noticed my soaker tube for my tatami mat and had forgotten that I had a mat soaking in it. Well, I had knocked off the cap and the tube had drained while I had been cutting the yard. Although I wasn't in the mood to do any cutting, I called my wife to come watch ( she also serves as a safety person as I am cautious when I cut and like to have someone there just in case!) I set up my cutting stand and fixed the tatami mat to it, got my Shinto Elite, and took a practice cut in the air. Then I stepped to the mat and made six perfect cuts! Wow! I really felt great. My wife said she had not seen me cut that well before. I felt so relaxed as I wiped off the katana, applied a coat of oil and returned it to its sheath. My wife and I just sat outside and talked enjoying the fresh outside air.
I wasn't going to post this since I feel so silly about sharing it but what the heck...any of you had a similar experience?
Regards,
Harry

Howdy Harry,
The past weekend was great weather to be with family and your sword. I did not do any cutting. My family and I went to the Sherwood Forest Faire and I carried my MRL Falchion on a new belt and suspension.
