Can anybody direct me to photos/drawings of English targes/targets of ca. 1550-1650? Specifically, I'm trying to get an idea of the targets used in early Virginia colony so I can start making a replica. Brass boss or no? Embossing or no? I've seen the Irish target in the Osprey book on the Irish wars, but most every other piece I've seen is late 17th or early 18th century and distinctively Scottish. Size, material and construction details would be helpful if you happen to know 'em.
