I'll frequently see Renaissance-era armours or helmets for important Spaniards attributed to Augsburg or sometimes a vague "Northern Italy." Did they actually make "dress" armour in Spain? I swear I don't think I've ever seen any armour of high craftsmanship labeled as being of Spanish make. All of the fine armours for the Hapsburg kings of Spain seem to have been made by Germans.

When you see a portrait of someone wearing an armour like the one below, where would this piece have been manufactured?

I don't know the full answer to your question, but the high-end European makers were in Germany/Austria and Italy during that era. All the fashionable nobles would have tried their hardest to have the best, which may have meant non-local.

Keep in mind as well that Charles V was both Holy Roman Emperor and King of Spain. He brought his northern tastes with him to his Spanish kingdom.
