A friend's wife wants to buy him a tree (display stand) to place his rather nice suit of wars of the Roses armour on for display. Does anyone know of a manufacturer of such trees/stands. preferably UK because that is where he is, but if not there then any reliable source would be useful.

Thanks for the suggested source. I willbhave a look there. I thoght about a carpenter, but that means a plan or drawing. As we have neither I would rather recommend her one from someone whio has made one before.
i did find a plan on the web, but it looked a little crude, using triangles of plywood etc.

I looked at the Medieval Art and Woodcraft site. There appears to be no link to make contact so that's a dead end.

You might send Tod an email, I'm sure he could set something up for you:

Roy,
Am aware you are looking for something in your area. Hope you are successful.
A a good source here in the U.S. is dressformmall.org. They do sell a variety of items, trees might be be in their inventory. Have purchased six of their #BC8S Mannequin for use in a local museum. In my own collection, I remounted a suit of armour from a tree to a mannequin, and it displays much better. They are 5' 8'' with adjustable arms and cost a bit over 135(USD).
Originally located them through a contact on this site.
Regards,
Dan

Thanks for the Tod contact. I will follow that up. Mannequins too might be a good idea. I am surprised that with all those re-enactors out there, there is not a regular range. Helmet stands are easier to find.
Thanks for all the thoughts so far.
