This guy is selling his personal arms library. Mostly 18th-19th century stuff. There are some classics here, folks, and the prices are great so far. I've seen the Albaugh confederate edged weapons book for $200 before (just paid 35 for one, and the Alibris fetch service just offered me one at 90). The Peterson book is good, but not his best, and thin on images. Swords and Blades of the American Revolution is as valuable a resource as Records of the Medieval Sword and far surpasses ROTMS in sheer number of images and breadth of coverage (it's a must-have for fans of 17th-18th c. hangers, basket hilt swords, knives, hatchets, etc.) The Moore book is good, too, but not as comprehensive. Don't know about the first Newmann book on the list (Weapons of the Am. Rev.). I already have all of these titles that I would want, but this could be one-stop shopping for some of y'all.

This reminds me, Nathan, et al: What do y'all think about publishing book reviews of classic or new arms & armour books? Books have been more important than replicas in my own a&a education, and I suspect that review articles would be a great service to folks just beginning their studies/collecting.

Hi all,
The first Neumann book, "Weapons of the American Revolution", is just as good as his"S & B of the Am. Rev.", and has the same format with multiple photos of each item. It doesn't have the depth of edged weapons (although there are a couple shown that aren't in S & B), but it makes up for the lack by covering firearms. The only drawback is it's small size- about 6-7" tall. It's worth having for sure!

He's starting Neumann's S&B ... at $20.

I only paid $24 for it new.

Moore's book is well worth having. Amazon's used book folks have it from $21 to $32.25.

What's missing here is Peterson's Arms and Armor of Colonial America.

The little book on French swords in Virginia sounds interesting.

I got Swords & Blades of American Revolution from him for $20. I've never seen it anywhere down here. It was in pristine condition with no wear evident. It's exactly the type of reference book I was looking for with hangers and hunting swords. It's about 10" x 12", though, not 6-7". I almost went for the Weapons of...but didn't. Kind of glad now, 6-7' sounds a bit small. How are the graphics in it? The French book sounded interesting, but a bit pricey for me.

It was a steal, Don! Are you interested in Confederate edged weapons, too, or just colonial stuff?

I recently became addicted to hunting swords, but the more I see the small swords and such, the more they are growing on me as well. The handles and gaurds are what interest me the most. The only confederate blades I'm interested in are the bowies, large fixed blades, patch knives and such. I never really thought much on colonial America having swords until I recently began looking into it. One of those "missing the forest for the trees" type of things I guess!
