Hands-on lessons in the most important Knightly weapon - the Longsword. Learn the basics of attack and defense in the German tradition! Space is limited space! Brought to you by Kunstbruder - the Brotherhood of the Art of Defense, a Boston area WMA group.
Sunday May 2nd, 12pm to 6pm, a full day of training in the Medieval German Longsword tradition.
Kunstbruder reconstructs Medieval martial arts from period manuals, studying the techniques used by knights and heroes of old. We then train to apply these skills in a realistic manner. Excellent for SCA Cut & Thrust.
We provide you with all necessary equipment for learning:
* the Meisterhau - Master cuts of the German school
* Absetzen - Defenses as cunning as those of the rapier
* Ringen - Grappling with the sword
* Lightning fast cuts
* Nimble footwork
The day ends with trying out your new skills in coached free play. Be prepared to sweat and leave a smarter swordsman.
At Gymnasium 1001 Watertown Rd. West Newton, MA
Preregistration is $50
At the door price $60
