I am just wondering if tempered en45 carbon steel is decent for a blade. This is not intended for blunt reenactment but to serve as an actual usable sword (i.e. sharpened and usable for cutting, etc).
I used to use en45a a lot and it makes really good sword blades - very tough but will still hold a reasonable edge. I only changed to things like SUP6 (the Japanese equivalent grade) as I could no longer get en45a in New Zealand.Still hammering away
