AT1592 danish two-handed longsword
I wish to have a lofty sword with great reach and devastating blows.
AT1592 danish two-handed longsword seems to be the winner but I am worried that it will be too cumbersome and long.
I am 5'6" tall and 150lbs with long arms and legs. I'm studying Fiore's manuals (posta, techniques, ect.). I figure the guard called Boar's Tooth may prove to me that a sword of such length is bad for me.

I'm looking forward to your important replies. Thank you!
Yes this will be too long for Fiore in my opinion. Perhaps practitioners of Fiore will chime in with a recommended sword length for your stature, but this sword is almost a true two-hander and I don't think it's ideal for the style and period.

Also, irrespective of the sword model, Angus Trim has been fairly hard to contact for a long time now. I'm not even sure he is taking orders and maybe he doesn't make this model anymore. Unless you find a retailer with the model you want in stock, or a used sword, it might be difficult to get one of these...

Regards,
Wesley, maybe one of these would suit you better?

I own this sword and it is my favorite cutter - blazing fast, deceptively so for its length.

As regards using it in the dei Liberi tradition...well, for *me* this is precisely the length sword that Vadi (a later master of the tradition recommends).- armpit height, hilt about the length of the forearm. However, I am just under 6'3. You are the same height as my girlfriend, and while she can wield the sword just fine, it is really more akin to the 16th century spadone. This doesn't mean that you can't use it with Fiore's art, but some of the plays and poste would require some alteration. If that isn't your goal, I'd recommend a shorter weapon.

I think that Christian Fletcher handles the ordering of Angus's products now, but I could be wrong on that.
