Hi Jeremy,
Welcome to the forum. Just a few tips to help you elicit some more favourable responses- as simply saying "I don't know anything, help me" isn't likely to get you many. First off, you should probably go through the following questions, as the answers to these will greatly affect the responses you get:
What are you wanting to make (precisely)? You say you have no pictures but you presumably are basing it off something...
What research have you done on your own? Google is your friend
What do you want to make it out of?
What experience do you have with this material (have you used a forge, can you weld etc)?
What tools do you have access to?
What is the intended purpose of the piece (display, costume, protective during sparring)?
If it is for use during sparring/freeplay, what group are you using it with (SCA, NAAMA etc)? Will it conform to their rules- do you know what those rules are?
If you can answer those questions, you can probably figure out what specific help you need and ask some more focussed questions, which will get you better replies
cheers
Andy

I can't be a huge help with the style of helm- not my period of interest- but if you haven't already I'd check out the Armour Archive and Gathering Darkness forums (though I'm guessing you're probably a member of the latter).
