Some people told me that crossbows are " allowed" to have shorter brace-heights. Their statements seemed valid, since most of the crossbows that I have seen on the internet do appear to have short brace-heights. Finally, this statement has been further confirmed when another person told me that steel crossbows have brace-heights that measure from 3.25 to 4 inches.

However, I do not know about the other types of crossbows and I need to be absolutely certain. Do other crossbows (wooden prod, composite-recurve prod) have short brace-heights? If they do, how long are they?

This is quite unrelated but I don't wan to create a new topic.

For a historical crossbow, how many grains should the bolt weigh for a 350 lb draw-weight?
The bolt, of course, would have a metal head and a wooden (not metal) shaft.
