my lord! a kingly suit! too bad its not functional. do you think you might have a nice one made like that? or does it have inherent design flaws? still awsome looking.....
Fredrik,

I'm curious; why did you switch knees from foot to horse back?
Here's a new pic of my kit at the moment (the breastplate is technically a loaner)... still have to get the arms and do some work on the maille (sleeves and make some sabatons):

Thanks! I really like the all-white look more than the corrizzina, but they both look sharp. And greaves made a big difference both in how the legs work and look.
The all white look is fantastic and an absolute must. We should discuss our kits together ;) you´re missing the arms, I am missing the greaves still, but will have a nice unique helmet soon ;).

I look forward to seeing it!

I do have to admit - my harness has some brass accents that are limited enough to just add a bit of flare to the all-white look, and it wasn't originally on purpose... it just ended up that way and it works rather well :D
My Harness
Here is some pieces of my harness that is being made for me. The style im going for is high german gothic and most of the harness will be made of aircraft aluminum ;) Which is very light, strong and most importantly doesn't rust!

This is what the harness will look like when complete
normally I am strongly anti-aluminum in historical armour, but dang, that is some nice shaping!

That'll turn out to be a wicked suit.
I agree. Everyone's got their own reasons for doing these things, and sometimes historical materials just aren't going to make the cut for this person or that. I can respect that. The metalwork on your progressing harness is turning out wonderfully, and the miniature you've posted as inspiration is certainly a wicked interpretation of a high Gothic harness ready for war!
My Harness
Well ,as a reenactor I would love to have it to be full steel plate, but I cant have that kind of weight bearing on me while wearing a prosthesis :( It just wont work right.

If i had steel armour, I would have the weight pushing down more on my stump and that could be a serious problem. In my groups we don't swing full force and we go by the " touch", so it'll be perfect for what i do. Thought I would explain my reason for going that route :D

Iv included more pics of the harness below ;)

My old kit with a friend of mine
Here is my old kit. I'm on the right side in the yellow hat and the not so shiney armour. My friend here is Randal Scott. This is a suit that I put together over several years, one piece at a time. I just got a new suit from Merc Tailor, I'll post a pic of that later.

We had fun doing this photo shoot.

Ah so that is the new safety gear regulations we have been hearing about lately! :)
That's cool :) ;) :D
Steve, are you actually wearing a codpiece in that shot?
offcourse! It's the most important armour piece after all!

:D

As his brother I can tell you that is his favorite part of that kit. I must warn you, a close up is not kid friendly!
actually, while i'm at it i have a 14th century kit in the works. this was the first time i had been able to put it on together
the bascinet and sword are from GDFB - CAS iberia,
the Jupon, aventail and brigandine are from Steel Mastery in ukraine,
Mail from obsidian Moon,
