Had a muck about in the shed again.

Finally made the Spatha rig that I have been wanting to do for years.

The belt is from Deepeeka, the blade is a Peter Lyon diamond section that I have had since 1995 and the black leather grip was made for the blade back in 1996.

I made the bronze pommel and guard, modified the grip to fit, made the scabbard and all of the fittings for it. Made the round decorative mounts for the suspension rings and the leather and brass pins that suspend the scabbard from the belt.

Cheers

Pretty good, especially for a first try. I think the first thing I tried to make in leather caught fire WTF?! .

That's a mighty wide belt, though; how well does it wear?

Looks good! I really like the suspension you chose. The thick belt looks really nice too!

Nice one Rod!

ME2 - you just have to elaborate on this one;

"Pretty good, especially for a first try. I think the first thing I tried to make in leather caught fire" WTF?! .

The scabbard chape looks great. Did you cast it or is it soldered somehow?
