Now I'm very interested in this picture posted by sean, as the blade appears to be a type XVI, still in use in a later period. It was no uncommon for a sword blade to be rehilted according to later fashion (it may also be a fuellered type XVIII...but it doesn't look that way on the picture below). The thing is, the hilt of the albion crecy is quiet typical of the XIV century with it's straight guard and round pommel, so my question is it would be appropriate to fit a leather rainguard on it? Of course I'll play around with photoshop to come up with a design, but at this stage I'm not even sure it would make sense.
