Hi All
Have any heard of a Spanish Desperta Ferro Sword? suppossedly the Almogavars, Aragonese mercenaries of the 13th & 14th centuries would clang their swords on their shields and shout "Desperta Ferro!", (Wake up iron!) as they charged. It has become the motto of Spanish paratroopers. Anyway there is a sword with that phrase inscribed on it on ebay. Claims to be an antique. I am guessing that it is a ceremonial/dress sword from early 20th.

Love the forum and site. I have one darkwood rapier to fence with, and my great-grandpappy's Union calvary sabre hanging above the mantle.
