An old blade, with 80 cms. length (without tang) and 21 mm width, possibly from a rapier, and possibly from the XVII or XVIII century.
I first thought it would be an Iberian work (Portuguese or Spanish), but someone sugested Solingen.
Is any member familiar with these marks?

The pictures have distinct backgrounds because i had to choose them from various atempts to get reasonable takes ... allways difficult to picture tiny marks.

Hi,
a rapier, couldn't it be a swordstick blade? Mine just look the same (with different marks.).

I guess that, in a general manner, there are no blades born to be used in swordsticks, but swordsticks mounted with 'salvaged' sword blades.
In any case, the basic thing is to identify the marks, which will reveal the blade smith and the country of origin. Where it was mounted, if it ever was mounted *, will just be an added value.
* Sometimes blades are found without a hilt because they were actually loose blades being traded from one place to another, to be mounted at destination.
I wish i knew the story of this one.

Well, so far i have found that this is a Dutch small sword blade, 1st. half XVIII century.
I will continue investigations to find out who the blade maker was.
Any help will be so much welcome.
