The proof copies of the print editions arrived yesterday and I noticed that I'd screwed up... There is an entire chapter missing! The chapter on Production, custom and semi-production swords is the one that is missing. So- if you have downloaded your copy of the 2nd edition go back and download it again- the corrected edition is now online.

How does something like this happen? Pretty easily when the author/editor/publisher is pressed for time and trying to get the book out fast while having to sandwich working on it into an already busy life and work schedule! The chapters were written individually and then compiled into the book, and then the Table of Contents was written. The chapter numbering was off, but since I had added a whole new chapter on Viking swords and saexes I assumed that was the cause and just redid the chapters headers... Oops!

Anyway it's fixed now- now to redo the print editions...

Thanks for the heads up. I think it has something to do with the lack of sandwich in most editors diets.
