|
|
I am in the market for a riveted aventail and have been doing a bit of searching. I have viewed a few places that supposedly sell them, only to find out that they are either out of stock, overseas, or do not return emails.
Any recommendations on a state-side vendor?

The best price I have seen for riveted mail is on Von Sussen's site:
http://sussen.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page15.html
Their mail shirts are $425 for flat riveted 9.5 mm.
Their aventails are $95, $150 and $250 depending on quality.
These are intended for SCA fighting so they they will stand up to punishment.

Tsafa,
Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I am looking for! I own a Von Sussen shirt and am pretty happy with it, so I am sure the 10" flat riveted will do just nicely!

Another solution is to just buy a coif and cut off the hood part which leaves you with an aventail and some spare male for test cutting, tailoring, making into something else, etc.
